Premium projects and licenses
A Premium project uses one of a team workspace’s Premium project slots. Premium enables the Progress Update module and lets assigned Viewers contribute progress when they have progress-input permission.
Two separate allocations
| Allocation | Assigned to | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Member license | A person in the workspace | Licensed membership, including roles that require it |
| Premium project slot | A project | Premium collaboration and progress update capabilities for that project |
A person can work on multiple projects. A Premium slot covers the project rather than an individual schedule or update cycle.
How roles affect member licenses
- A Project Viewer does not require a member license just to hold that role.
- A Project Editor requires licensed workspace membership on every project.
- A Project Viewer with progress-input permission can contribute to a Premium progress cycle without a member license.
- A Project Admin requires licensed workspace membership, including on Premium projects.
Other workspace or project roles can still require the person to remain licensed. Upgrading one project does not automatically remove a person’s membership or license.
Make a project Premium
You need Workspace Owner or Admin access and an available Premium project slot.
- Select the team workspace and open Projects.
- Open the project’s actions and choose Upgrade to Premium.
- Review and confirm the change.
- Open Progress to set up an update cycle.
If you enter the Progress module before upgrading, an authorized workspace administrator can also use Make Premium when capacity is available.
If no slots are available
Check the workspace’s available Premium allocation. Assigning a slot uses existing capacity; it does not by itself purchase additional capacity. Ask the Workspace Owner to review the plan or contact support about increasing the allocation.
Plan limits and pricing should be checked in the app’s billing flow for your workspace.
Removing Premium
Removing Premium disables the Progress Update module. It does not change project roles or member-seat requirements.
Premium and Individual workspaces
The Progress Update module requires a Team or Enterprise workspace. An Individual subscription in another workspace does not grant Premium access here.
